Nelly Furtado Celebrates Platinum With Mi Plan

Nelly Furtado has a lot to smile about this month. The “Manos al Aire” singer’s first Spanish language album has been honored by the Recording Industry Association of America for sales in excess of not just 500,000 copies but 1 million copies !
“Mi Plan,” released in September, was certified both Gold and Platinum earlier this month after climbing both mainstream and Latin albums charts worldwide.
Featuring the hit single “Manos Al Aire” and its follow up “Mas,” “Mi Plan” was a labor of love for Furtado.
Speaking with CNN earlier this year, Furtado said “I love being a multicultural artist, I love being a global artist. [The album] is almost like a literal reflection of that this time in the fact that it’s all in Spanish and it’s a completely original project written from scratch.”
“Mi Plan” includes contributions from Juan Luis Guerra, Josh Groban, Alex Cuba and Alejandro Fernandez.
